PRDX Unveils MV Triton Lowered Suspension Upgrade Kit

Adelaide, SA – Paradox Automotive (PRDX) proudly introduces thePRDX MV Triton Lowered Suspension Upgrade Kit, a transformative upgrade designed exclusively for the New-Gen MV Triton. Engineered to enhance on-road dynamics, fast dirt-road performance, and aesthetics, this kit redefines what Triton owners can expect from their vehicle—delivering a driving experience that’s sharper, smoother, and undeniably cooler.

Engineered for Excellence

The PRDX HBD (HillBilly Delete) Suspension Lowering Kit isn’t your typical 4WD suspension upgrade. It’s the antidote to the “higher, bigger, badder” mentality dominating the industry. Lowering the Triton by approximately 50mm at the front and 60mm at the rear, this kit improves handling, ride comfort, and steering precision while addressing the MV Triton’s stock suspension flaws, like low-speed harshness and high-speed waywardness.

Key Features

  • Custom Bilstein Components: Shortened Bilstein B6 front struts and rear shocks with bespoke valving, developed in conjunction with Heasmans (Bilstein’s Sydney distributor), tailoredfor comfort and control.
  • Custom Springs: Hand-crafted front coils and exclusive 3-over-1 two-stage rear leaf packs, built specifically for PRDX to optimize ride quality and load handling.
  • Lowered Profile: Drops the eyebrow heights to ~470mm front and ~510mm rear (from stock 520mm/569mm), enhancing stability and style. Eyebrow heights are an industry standard measurement that is obtained by measuring from the wheel centre to the edge of the guard directly above.
  • Compliance Assured: Complies with Mitsubishi’s minimum allowable ride height measurements as outlined in the MV Triton’s Road Vehicle Descriptor document.

Benefits Over Stock

  • Sharper Handling: Reduced center of gravity and custom valving, increase ride compliance, minimize body roll and boost steering response on all road types.
  • Smoother Ride: Changes to the front and rear spring rates and importantly the type of spring used in the rear, have eliminated the stock front suspension’s high-speed bump harshness, and the Triton’s tendency to float between high-speed undulations. Combined with our revalved monotube Bilstein shocks and struts, ride quality has been seriously improved, along with body and wheel control.
  • It Just Looks Better: Paired with larger wheels, the lowered stance gives the Triton a subtle, aggressive edge. Once you’ve seen a lowered MV Triton, the lifted ones just look a little ‘back-country’.
  • Practical Load Handling: The lowered two-stage rear leaf packs will manage up to 200kg comfortably, outperforming the stock comfort springs.
  • Fuel Efficiency Potential: A lower front profile will definitely enhance aerodynamics, with observed figures as low as 6.9L/100km at 100-110km/h in ideal conditions. We don’t have a definitive take on this, but we continue to see stock vehicle fuel economy levels, despite running a slightly taller wheel/tyre combination.

Tested on Real Roads

Developed over 40,000km of testing across South Australia, Victoria, and New South Wales, the kit endured urban streets, highways, corrugated dirt roads, and “bloody horrible” country back-roads. Through four front coil iterations, six rear leaf adjustments, and three valving refinements, PRDX collaborated with Australian springmakers and Heasmans to perfect this Triton-specific upgrade.

Why the PRDX HBD Kit Stands Out

  • Triton-Tailored: Designed by MV Triton drivers for MV Triton drivers.
  • Exclusive Components: Custom Bilstein shocks, Australian coils, and purpose-built leaf packs—unavailable off-the-shelf.
  • No Fuss Fitment: Unlike most lifts, the lowering kit Installs without driveline issues or extra mods like tailshaft spacers or centre bearing upgrades, being required.
  • Dynamic Transformation: Turns the Triton into a fun, comfortable, and very capable road warrior.

Pricing and Availability

Priced at$3,590.00 (Inc. GST plus shipping), the kit is available now at PRDX. Choose from ~30 fitting partners across Australia, with fitting costs of $600–$700 (including alignment). Shipping is a flat $75 to most metro and inner rural areas, with leaf springs sent separately to depots or fitters.
