Manufactured in Adelaide by Pacemaker Headers, and coated and black powder-coated exclusively for PRDX, this is a high-quality and importantly, thoroughly tested 3″ DPF back exhaust system for the MV Triton.
The MV Triton runs an Adblue emissions system and as such runs a different DPF and exhaust system to the previous generation Tritons, one that includes two catalytic convertors, one up near the DPF section of the exhaust and the other further back in the system. There’s also two sensors located part way along the exhaust system, to the rear of the second cat convertor.
This replacement exhaust system includes the correct catalytic convertor and threaded sensor locations. We have been running the straight through system for over 40,000kms without any issue, or error codes being generated.
PRODUCT INFORMATION AND FAQs
DIY fitting is straightforward, but you do need to drop one side of the cross-member that supports the transfer case down, to remove the stock exhaust, or be prepared to cut the stock exhaust to remove it.
Once the stock exhaust is removed, fitting the new exhaust is straight forward. You start at the front (DPF end) and work your way back.
This kit includes three sections that make up the full DPF back system, along with all gaskets and fasteners required.
Our dyno results were as follows:
- Stock:109.4kW/330.7Nm
- 3" with muffler: 112.1kW/338.3Nm
- 3" no muffler: 114.4kW/337.0Nm
While those numbers seem modest, there is a noticeable difference in on-road driving, particularly when the car's under load on long hills. Where it used to shunt between 5th and 6th gears, it will now hold 6th far more consistently.
We think this has more to do with the car likely running much lower EGTs - like the MQ and MR do with a larger exhaust - and as a result it's able to run longer under load in higher gears, ie it's not constantly changing down to drop EGTs.
It also feels stronger off the line, although if you are looking for big performance improvements, then a DPF exhaust isn't the answer. This is a really nice mod, that makes subtle but positive improvements to the exhaust note and the way the Triton drives.

If you work your MV hard, then this exhaust is a very worthwhile upgrade.
The exhaust note changes, in that it's a little gruffer, and if you know your car, you'll notice the change.
Otherwise there's no decibel increase, no droning and no 'thong-slapping'.
If you're chasing a proper diesel exhaust note, you'll waste your money buying this or any other DPF back exhaust.
This system is made in Australia by Pacemaker Headers, and powder coated black exclusively for PRDX.
We've been dealing with Pacemaker for years, because - besides making very high-quality gear - they go the extra mile if there is ever an issue.
Each system is mandrel bent and manufactured from 1.5mm wall thickness 409 Stainless Steel that is powder coated for added protection, and in this case, that black OEM+ look.
